Staffing a public information booth at the outdoor Flea Market on Saturday morning, Sept 12, 2009
Location:
Eldorado Community Center, One Hacienda Loop, Eldorado
Goal:
To provide information to the public about gardening in and around Santa Fe (much like the Master Gardening Hotline or Farmers Market Booth) and to educate the public about the Master Gardener program and SFMGA, with an eye toward expanding our membership.
Looking for volunteers who…
…can staff the booth in 2 or 4-hour shifts, answer general gardening questions and provide information about the Master Gardener program. Where answers to questions are not immediately known, we expect to take names, phone numbers and addresses so that either information booth or hotline volunteers can provide follow-up information. Also included in the shift's work will be taking down our materials at the end of the market and tracking the inquiries that are received.
Work Schedule:
Saturday morning, September 12. Shifts are: 8AM to 10AM and 10AM to 12PM. A double shift from 8AM-12PM is allowed if desired.
Additional info:
Each shift will be staffed by a minimum of two people, but preferably three. One must be a certifiedMaster Gardener.
Event is outdoors in an uncovered parking lot. Jackets and hats are desirable as the mornings can be cool.
