Project:
Farmers' Market Information Booth
Description:
Public gardening answers at the outdoor Farmers' Market.
Location:
Saturdays
PERA Building Parking Lot, off Paseo de Peralta – 7:30-noon
Tuesdays
Armory for the Arts Parking Lot (by the Children's Museum), off Old Pecos Trail – 7:30-noon
Goal:
Educate the public about Santa Fe gardening. Inform them about SFMGA. Attract new members. Ensure SFMGA's visibility as a valuable community resource.
Looking for volunteers who…
  1. …can staff the booth in 2 or 4-hour shifts, answer questions about general gardening and about the SFMGA program. Where answers are not immediately known, take contact info for followup. Track these questions. Take down our materials at the end of the shift.
  2. …will serve as "team leader" for one-month shifts. Leaders must be MGs. They ensure, at shift change, that booth volunteers have enough handouts, supplies, and equipment.
Work Schedule:
Tuesdays and Saturdays, May 3-October 28, 7:30-noon.
Additional Info:
Each shift's staff will be at least two people, preferably three; one must be a certified MG.
Reporting hours:
  • Organizational Support (team leaders)
  • Public contact
