In a nutshell…

Description:
Explore all aspects of herbs – culinary, aromatic, ornamental and medicinal. Learn about herb planting and growing, garden design with herbs, harvesting, storage and uses. Herb activities will be created by the team around the interests of those involved in the project. The herb team also supports Plant a Row – a service to grow vegetables for the local food bank.
Location:
Adjacent to Santa Fe County Extension Office complex, 3229 Rodeo Road
Goal:
Learn about all aspects of herb growth and uses and share knowledge about successful growing and propagation in the Santa Fe area.
Looking for volunteers who…
…want hands-on or educational hours and have knowledge of or want to learn about herbs. No herb experience necessary.
Work Schedule:
Activities will be planned throughout the year based upon what themes the group decides upon – a mixture of hands-on and educational opportunities will be available.
Additional Info:
  • You will be able to take home herbs and starts from the garden.
  • Although we may grow some herbs with medicinal benefits, the focus will not be on uses of medicinal herbs as our agreement with the County does not allow prescription or education on medicinal herb use.
