Description:
Began assisting the Santa Fe Rose Society with maintenance of the long established Harvey Cornell Rose Garden in the City of Santa Fe. Assist with and provide public education on rose pruning, deadheading, mulching, selection and design of rose gardens in the desert Southwest.
Location:
Harvey Cornell Rose Garden, 1203 Galisteo Parkway (Galisteo Street at Cordova Road)
Goal:
Provide education on rose growing in Santa Fe and assist with maintaining a valuable garden resource in the city of Santa Fe
Looking for volunteers who…
…desire to learn more about growing roses in Santa Fe and are willing to put their knowledge into practice.
Work Schedule:
Spring: Pruning demonstration and work day
Summer: Deadheading demonstration and work day
Fall: Mulching/maintenance demonstration and work days
Additional info:
Bring pruners, loppers and pruning saws in the spring, pruners in the summer, and shovels, rakes and weeders in the fall. Email announcements are sent out for specific work/education dates, so be sure we have your information.
